This week’s video drill is a lot of fun. \u00a0In this clip, we focus on explosive jumping and balance. \u00a0While jumping itself doesn’t always have a direct use in games, the skills and techniques it works on play a vital role in skating ability. \u00a0Jumping forces players to do the following:<\/p>\n

1) Get low and explode up
\n2) Land in a controlled manner (ever been off-balance in a hockey game before?)
\n3) Balance
\n4) Keep control of their entire<\/span> body
\n5) Utilize edges<\/p>\n
