Summer Training: Skill Drill #1 (Video)

This quick skill drill is a continuation from the last post about summer training with open ice.  The drills we’ll be posting are simple in concept, but involve a lot of different skills and techniques.  My hope is the videos will give players/coaches a starting point.  Stay tuned for more videos!

  1. Oooooo I like this! works on attacking the “seam” (at least that’s what I call it) from the top down as well as from out of the corner! nice work.

  2. Yep – I call it the same thing…I run this all the time in private lessons. Believe it or not, the hardest part is the first turn. My student in this video is still working on it…left foot inside edge, right foot outside edge (slight stopping action) to work on acceleration back to the middle. Tough technique. Great power move!
