Backhand Shots [Video]
The backhand shot is one of the most difficult for goaltenders to stop, as the release point and exact location of the shot are very tough to read. Unfortunately, many players fail to properly practice this crucial shot.

absolutely – one of the most underused shots, but oh so deadly. Will definitely add this in a practice this weekend as we gear up for playoffs. After demonstrating/practicing the proper technique in controlled situation, Do you have any drills you typically step up to?
Hi Eric,
Start off simple – begin by having the players skate from the corer around the top of the circle. If they’re on their backhand, make them fire on their backhand. As they get more comfortable, have them shoot in stride.
Here are a couple other ones that work well for just getting into the technique.
